St. John UCC is a church of extravagant welcome to all. No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here. Jesus the Christ did not turn anyone away and neither will we. We celebrate our diversity as children of God and invite you to join us.
Enriching Our Faith
We are committed to education.
We believe that “God Is Still Speaking.” By this we mean that we continue to hear and interpret the sacred scriptures as they apply to our lives and world today. We seek to listen and watch for God’s creative revelation in our world. While our faith is over 2,000 years old, our thinking is not. We believe that science and religion can coexist and we encourage you to bring your whole self to worship. We invite you to come with your questions and struggles as we openly explore these big mysteries together. At this church, you do not need to check your brain at the door.

We believe that each person is unique and valuable. It is the will of God that every person belong to a family of faith where they can feel a strong sense of being valued and loved. We believe that God is all-loving and inclusive. We believe that all of the baptized belong in body and soul to Christ. No matter who – no matter what – no matter where we are on life’s journey – notwithstanding race, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, class or creed – we all belong to God and to one worldwide community of faith. All persons baptized are connected to God and one another. We try to baptize during worship when the community is present and can promise its love, support
and care for the baptized. That is a promise we will not take back no matter where the journey of life leads you.
