Council Highlights for October 2008

Present: Karen Becker, Cherie Bersch, Mary Johnson, Bob Lehmann, Matt Lison, Jay Schaetzel, Mary Ann Toth and Dick Wallander

Absent: Pastor Matheny and Mike Szymik

At its monthly meeting held on October 9th, the St. John Church Council:

  • Authorized earmarking 10% of the Craft Fair profits ($800.00) for Mission Alive.
  • Agreed to send Mary Johnson and one other St. John member to a two-day membership growth workshop (Bring ‘Em In) in Stevens Point, at a cost not to exceed $400.00 for registration, travel and lodging.
  • Approved the use of the sanctuary for the Olson/Schwartz wedding on June 27, 2009 at 4:00 pm.
  • Approved a request from Allen Toth to use the Fellowship Hall for the Toth/Krueser Christmas Party on December 13, 2008 from 1:00-6:00 pm.

Thank you to those who have responded with a special donation to our Maintenance Emergency Fund. We have raised approximately $700 to offset the $4,300 costs of our water hook-up. Any and all special donations to help replenish this fund are greatly appreciated. We hope to have the water hooked up within the next month.
