Council Highlights for October 2007

Present: Karen Becker, Cherie Bersch, Mary Johnson, Bob Lehmann, Mike Szymik, Mary Ann Toth and Dick Wallander

Absent: Matt Lison, Pastor Matheny

At its monthly meeting held on October 11th, the St. John Church Council:

  • Authorized a call for a special congregational meeting immediately after the worship service on October 28th to discuss and act upon a recommendation to enter into a pastoral sharing agreement with Our Savior UCC
  • Approved the appointment of Jay Schaetzel to fill the Deacon vacancy on the Church Council
  • Set Sunday, November 11th at 6:00 pm for the Annual Board of Trustees meeting
  • Approved the use of the Fellowship Hall on the evening of November 14th for an annual subdivision meeting
  • Received a gift of two tables from Youth for Understanding in appreciation for making our Fellowship Hall available for their meetings

Thank-you to everyone who helped make our Annual Craft Fair such a success. A special thank-you to Merry Lison and the entire Craft Fair Committee for all of the effort put into our biggest fund-raiser of the year.

Thanks go out to all who responded to our call for Sunday School teachers, and to Annaliesa Kubosch who will serve as Sunday School Superintendent this year.
