Council Highlights for November 2009

Present: Karen Becker, Cherie Bersch, Eric Hillstrom, Bob Lehmann, Pastor Matheny, Mike Szymik, Mary Ann Toth and Dick Wallander

Absent: Mary Johnson, Jay Schaetzel

At its monthly meeting held on November 12th, the St. John Church Council:

  • Earmarked the earnings from our Craft Fair fundraiser as follows:
    • $  550.00 Mission Alive
    • $  450.00 Parsonage Property Landscaping Fund
    • $1,500.00 SportsLife Camp
    • $3,000.00 General Fund
  • Set Sunday, January 31, 2010 for our Annual Congregational Meeting
  • Approved a recommendation to be acted upon at the Annual Meeting of the congregation to enter into a combined Summer worship service with Our Saviour’s
  • Approved a recommendation from the Board of Trustees to present Judy Luckow as an Elder of the church at the Annual Meeting
  • Approved a request from Jodi Becker for the use of the fellowship hall for a wedding rehearsal on April 10, 2010 from 5-6 pm and the church sanctuary for a wedding on April 10, 2010 from 4-5 pm to be performed by an outside pastor
  • Approved a request from Christine Toth for use of the fellowship hall, including beer and wine, for a family Christmas party on December 18th from noon until 8pm
