Council Highlights for May 2009

Present: Karen Becker, Cherie Bersch, Eric Hillstrom, Mary Johnson, Bob Lehmann, Pastor Matheny, Mike Szymik and Mary Ann Toth

Absent: Jay Schaetzel and Dick Wallander

At its monthly meeting held on May 14th, the St. John Church Council:

  • Approved the purchase of Sunday School curriculum for the 2009-2010 church year
  • Recommended constitution language changes regarding inactive members
  • Approved recommendation from Board of Elders regarding members nominated for St. John elder position
  • Approved grading contract with RL Williams Enterprises to grade church water-line excavation and parsonage property
  • Authorized a special worship service time for August 16th at 8:45 am. This will be a joint service with Our Saviour’s at St. John, followed by the Adult Fellowship Brewer Game
  • Approved a request by Wayne Sieglaff to use the Fellowhip Hall for a baptism celebration on Sunday, May 17, 2009
