Council Highlights for March 2008

Present: Karen Becker, Cherie Bersch, Mary Johnson, Bob Lehmann, Pastor Matheny, Matt Lison, Mike Szymik, Mary Ann Toth, Dick Wallander, and Jay Schaetzel

Absent: None

At its monthly meeting held on March 13th, the St. John Church Council:

  • Approved a request from Women’s Guild to conduct a fundraiser in conjunction with Shady Lane Nursery
  • Accepted as new members Jane Etnyre and Bret & Lori Flora to be received by the congregation on March 16th
  • Approved an agreement with SportsLife Camp to commit to 50 students for the week of August 11-14
  • Set April 20th for the installation of Church officers during the worship service
  • Approved the re-naming of the Council Room to the Christian Education Center
  • Authorized moving forward with the Scrips Program as a church-wide fundraiser
  • Approved the use of the Church Sanctuary for the Freeman/Schultz wedding on September 27th at 1:30 pm
  • Agreed to let the Girl Scouts move their meeting in the Fellowship Hall from March 24th to March 31st at 6:30 pm
