Council Highlights for June 2008

Present: Karen Becker, Cherie Bersch, Mary Johnson, Bob Lehmann, Pastor Matheny, Jay Schaetzel, Mary Ann Toth and Dick Wallander

Absent: Matt Lison and Mike Szymik

At its monthly meeting held on June 12th, the St. John Church Council:

  • Approved a motion that, effective Sunday, September 7, 2008, our worship service will begin at 10:15 am.
  • Set the Annual Board of Elders meeting for Sunday, July 13th at 6:00 pm.
  • Approved a request from the Youth Group to raise funds by stuffing envelopes for Roundy’s Inc.
  • Acted on a request from Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church to transfer the membership of Dawn Umhoefer and Samantha Noltner.
  • Authorized the use of the fellowship hall one Tuesday per month from 4:00 – 6:00 pm between September, 2008 and June, 2009 by AFSCME Local 2423.
  • Approved a request from Amy Grenier and David Dayton to use the church sanctuary for a wedding rehearsal on July 10th at 5:00 pm, and a wedding on July 11th at 5:00 pm.
