Council Highlights for July 2009

Absent: Mike Szymik and Jay Schaetzel

At its monthly meeting held on July 9th, the St. John Church Council:

  • Received a report from the Christian Education program that Lori Flora will be assuming the role of Sunday School superintendent.
  • Reinstituted the original 10:15 start time for the August 16th worship service. The time for service on this date had been altered to accommodate a planned Outreach Committee/Adult Fellowship event. Service on August 16th will be at the usual 10:15 start time.
  • Set Sunday, September 6th as Visitation Sunday. Because of the Outreach Committee/Adult Fellowship Brewer outing on this date, the worship service has been cancelled. St. John members wishing to attend service on this date are encouraged to attend the 8:45 worship service at Our Saviour’s.
  • Agreed to sponsor the Roundy’s coupon fundraiser again this year if Mary Johnson can work out an acceptable arrangement.
  • Authorized a request from Audrey Kirchhoff to use the Fellowship Hall for a Red Hat event on Saturday, July 11th.
  • Accepted a donation of two filing cabinets from Mary & Gary Johnson for use by the Christian Education program.
