At its monthly meeting held on July 12th, the St. John Church Council:

  • Reviewed and discussed the Treasurer’s Report which shows St. John $14,000 in arrears
  • Reviewed the agenda for the annual Board of Deacons meeting on Sunday, July 15th
  • Was updated on planning for the SportsLife Camp which will occur on August 13-16
  • Approved the expenditure of $93.50 for St. John postcards to be used by various committees in communicating with members
  • Made preparations to gather information and study options for three items that were raised at the special congregational meeting on June 24th: exploration of sale of parsonage land, feasibility of a part-time pastor, and eligibility for building-improvement grants from the State Historical Society and/or the Wisconsin Conference.
  • Approved use of the church for a wedding on November 17, 2007 pending authorization from Pastor Matheny.

A very special thank-you to those members who have already responded to our Summer Relief appeal. To date, we have received $8,400 in response to our call for help in reducing our $19,000 budget shortfall. Please know that your response is greatly appreciated and that no amount is too small in helping us carry out the mission of St. John. God bless all of the members of our St. John family, and may God continue to watch over us with love and compassion.
