Council Highlights for January 2010

At its monthly meeting held on January 14th, the St. John Church Council:

  • Adopted a final proposed 2010 Budget to be acted upon by the congregation at its Annual Meeting on January 31, 2010
  • Approved final amendments to the church Constitution and By-Laws and Cemetery Association Constitution and By-Laws to be acted upon by the congregation at its Annual Meeting
  • Approved a motion to recommend to the congregation at the Annual Meeting combined summer services with Our Saviour’s UCC between June 20 and September 5, 2010
  • Approved service point requirements for all confirmands beginning with next confirmation class
  • Recommended Sue Hillstrom, Judy Luckow and Caroline Romaine as Elders of the church
  • Acted on a request from Richard Schwartz to withdraw his membership
  • Approved a request from Youth For Understanding to hold their meeting in our fellowship hall on January 23rd from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
  • Approved a request from Girl Scout Troop 4004 to hold their make-up meeting in our fellowship hall on the evening of January 21st
  • Approved a request from Sharon Reeder to use the fellowship on March 31st for a baptism reception
