Council Highlights for December 2007

Present: Karen Becker, Cheri Bersch, Mary Johnson, Bob Lehmann, Matt Lison, Pastor Matheny, Jay Schaetzel, Mike Szymik, Mary Ann Toth and Dick Wallander

Absent: None

At its monthly meeting held on December 13th, the St. John Church Council:

  • Welcomed Jay Schaetzel as the new Deacon appointed to fill a Council vacancy
  • Approved the hiring of Shannon Flood to supervise cleaning operations for St. John
  • Made a preliminary recommendation for approval at the Annual Meeting, the 2008 church operating budget. Final approval will come at the January Council meeting.
  • Discussed issues and concerns surrounding the newly adopted Pastor-Sharing agreement with Our Saviour’s
  • Reviewed and finalized upcoming Christmas activities
  • Began preliminary preparation for the Annual Meeting on January 27th
  • Approved a request by Audrey Kirchoff to use of the Fellowship Hall on January 12, 2008 for a meeting of Retreat in Miniatures
