Council Highlights for August 2007

Present: Cherie Bersch, Mary Johnson, Bob Lehmann, Matt Lison, Pastor Matheny, Betty Parker, Mike Szymik, Mary Ann Toth and Dick Wallander

Absent: None

At its monthly meeting held on August 9th, the St. John Church Council:

  • Set October 21st as New-Member Sunday with a pot-luck to follow the worship service
  • Approved the appointment of Pamela Hansen Ruben as Board of Christian Education administrator. (Thank you so much Pamela for enthusiastically taking on this most important role in the life of St. John)
  • Set the date for the children’s Christmas program for December 16th
  • Approved the appointment of Karen Becker to fill the Trustee vacancy on the board that was caused by Kevin Elinski’s move to Arizona
  • Set November 25th as Heritage Sunday

Thank-you to the youth and adults who took part in our Mission Week activities during the week of August 6th. By truly living their faith, these St. John members made a positive impact on the lives of many individuals in the city of Milwaukee

A very special thank-you to those members who continue to respond to our Summer Relief appeal. To date, we have received a remarkable $12,620 in response to our call for help in reducing our summer budget shortfall.
