Council Highlights for August 2006
Present: Karen Becker, Cherie Bersch, Mary Johnson, Bob Lehmann, Matt Lison, Betty Parker, Mike Szymik, Mary Ann Toth
Absent: Pastor Matheny, Eric Tess
At its monthly meeting held on August 10th, the St. John Church Council:
- Approved a youth group swimming party for August 20th.
- Authorized the hiring of Jane Entyre as choir director and accompanist.
- Approved the development of an official form for members requesting to be removed from church membership.
- Received updates on several projects including:
- Parsonage removal - scheduled to be completed by mid-October
- Fellowship hall roof repair - a date will be set for late September
- Sidewalk repair - funds have been donated by Curt Witzlib for repairs to be done within the next month
- Church website - currently up and running at www.stjohnuccgermantown.org CHECK IT OUT!
- Rally Day - several committees are working on this September 17th event
Very special 'thank yous' go out this month to the following:
- Joan Schaetzel and all of the members of the Worship Committee for their hard work in bringing on Jane Entyre as our new choir director/accompanist. Welcome Jane!
- The Maintenance Committee members for their many contributions to the day-to-day operations of St. John.
- John Schaetzel for his work on the church parsonage, roof repairs, and air-conditioning replacement.
- Rich Bersch, Annaliesa Kubosch and Jeannie Lehmann for taking on leadership responsibilities for the Mission Commission, Board of Christian Education, and Spiritual Life Committee respectively.
- Curt Witzlib for his very generous contribution for repairs to the sidewalk.
